Welcome to the Clint Police Department. This site was created as a public service for our residents and visitors. We hope you find this site interesting and informative.

Clint is located in far west Texas about 25 miles southeast of El Paso near the El Paso and Husdspeth County line.

Founded in 1881 with the coming of the railroad, Clint is rich in history. Texas Rangers were stationed here during the famed "El Paso Salt Wars" and remained until the 1920's. The ranger station still stands today. (now a private residence). The first County Jail of El Paso is only 1 mile away in neighboring San Elizario. This jail, it is said, is the jail that "Billy the Kid" broke into, to free a friend. The Clint Police Station is a historic adobe structure built in the 1920's.

The officers of the Clint Police Department provide service not only to the towns 1000 residents, but are also often called upon to assist Sheriff's Deputies in Fabens, San Elizario, Tornillo, and areas between these communities. Clint is the only Municipal Police Department between the El Paso Metroplex and Pecos (over 200 miles to the east).

Highly trained, many Clint officers hold Master Peace Officer Certifications from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement.
(highest police certification issued by the state)

Clint Police Department is currently accepting applications for Reserve Police Officers. Anyone interested, may download the application by clicking here
